In the statement, President Skorton calls for efforts to increase the diversity of the faculty, academic professionals, and administrative staff. He also seeks to strengthen efforts to recruit and graduate a diverse student body, improve opportunities for veterans, and to make the campus more accessible for people with disabilities.
The university will publish an annual report on the progress it is making in reaching its diversity goals.
