Howard University Names Its New Provost

Wayne A.I. Frederick was appointed provost and chief academic officer at Howard University in Washington, D.C. He has been serving as professor of surgery, director of the Howard University Cancer Center, and interim deputy provost for health sciences at the university.

A native of Port of Spain, Trinidad, professor Frederick holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology, an MBA, and a medical degree, all from Howard University. Before joining the faculty at Howard, he was an assistant professor of surgery and director of surgical oncology at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
