The University of Georgia African Studies Institute is celebrating its 25th anniversary. For the past two weeks many events have been held on campus to celebrate the milestone.
The institute has established a research collection in the University Archives of the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library documenting the history of the organization. The collection includes photographs, posters, flyers, and other documents. The archive includes journals written by students who studied abroad in Africa. Also included are items such as clothing, jewelry, and crafts brought back from African by students who studied abroad.
