About 30 students at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore have reactivated a chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) on campus. The chapter will be the only one at a four-year educational institution in Maryland that meets the NAACP’s requirements for an official chapter.
The NAACP chapter at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore plans to work on voter registration and to increase student involvement with community organizations near the Princess Anne campus.
