The University of Southern California in Los Angeles received 51,800 applications for admission to the Class of 2018. Some 9,225 students were accepted for admission. The acceptance rate of 17.8 percent was the lowest in the university’s history.
Of the admitted students, 7 percent are African Americans. In the current academic year, there are 182 Black first-year students, who make up 6.2 percent of the first-year class.
