Three Black Women Faculty Members Appointed to New Positions at State Universities

Timiebi Aganaba-Jeanty has been named an assistant professor in the School for the Future of Innovation in Society at Arizona State University with a courtesy appointment at the university’s College of Law. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo, Canada.

Dr. Aganaba-Jeanty holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Leicester in England, a second bachelor’s degree from the Nigerian Law School in Nigeria, a master’s degree in space management from the International Space University in France, and a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in law and policy from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Leslie R. Walker-Harding has named chair of the department of pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She will also serve as associate dean for the School of Medicine, and senior vice president/chief academic officer for Seattle Children’s, effective February 15th, 2019. She is currently a professor and chair of the department of pediatrics at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and medical director and pediatrician-in-chief at Penn State Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Walker-Harding holds a medical degree from the University of Illinois.

Elizabeth Evans has been named interim vice president of academic affairs at Mississippi Valley State University. She most recently served as the university’s associate vice president of academic affairs. She is an assistant professor of public administration at the university. Dr. Evans joined the university’s faculty in 2003.

Dr. Evans holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Mississippi Valley State University, a master’s degree in public management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and a Ph.D. in public policy and administration from Mississippi State University.
