Godwin-Charles Ogbeide Takes Leadership Role at Purdue University Northwest

Godwin-Charles Ogbeide is the new director of the White Lodging School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University Northwest in Hammond, Indiana. He was an associate professor and director of strategy and hospitality at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

“The reputation of the White Lodging School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is widely known,” Ogbeide said. “To have the opportunity to work with the dedicated faculty, staff, and others at Purdue Northwest to continue this legacy is truly an honor and privilege.”

Dr. Ogbeide has more than 30 years’ experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. He was a founding director of IUPUI’s Events and Tourism Institute. Prior to joining IUPUI, Dr. Ogbeide was an associate professor of human nutrition and hospitality innovation management at the University of Arkansas.

Dr. Ogbeide the immediate past president of the Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education. He also serves as chief editor of the Events and Tourism Review.

Dr. Ogbeide earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in food science and human nutrition and a Ph.D. in agriculture education leadership from the University of Missouri.
