Audrey Alexander has been appointed chief of police at Florida A&M University. She has nearly three decades of experience with the university’s department of campus safety and security, most recently serving as assistant director and administrative lieutenant. She is a retired major who served in the United States Army Reserve and Florida National Guard for more than two decades.
Alexander is a three-time graduate of Florida A&M University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, a master’s degree in public administration, and a master’s degree in adult education.
Van B. Sapp has been appointed vice president of external affairs at Tuskegee University in Alabama. He previously served as dean and professor at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he was a senior vice president at PepsiCo.
Dr. Sapp is an alumnus of Tuskegee University, where he majored in business administration and management. He holds an MBA in marketing from Clark Atlanta University and a Ph.D. in organizational leadership from Concordia University Chicago.
Dennis Mitchell has been named senior advisor to the president for inclusion and belonging at Columbia University. He has been a member of the Columbia community for more than three decades. In addition to his new role, he will retain his current position as senior provost for faculty advancement.
Dr. Mitchell is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he majored in neurology and behavior. He holds a doctor of dental surgery degree from Howard University and a master of public health degree in executive health services management from Columbia University.

Riley is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in applied sociology and social justice from Morgan State University.

Dr. Cepin holds a master’s degree in organizational psychology and a doctorate in adult learning and leadership from Columbia University.

McCullers holds a bachelor’s degree in policy and politics from North Carolina State University and a juris doctorate from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston.
