Joe Russell Appointed Dean of Students at Middlebury College in Vermont

Joe Russell has been named dean of students at Middlebury College in Vermont. Russell joins the Middlebury College community after nearly two decades of service at the University of Vermont. He began his tenure at UVM in 2005 as director of residential life. He went on to hold several other positions including head of the university’s Care Team, deputy Title IX coordinator for students, and crisis support chief for the university’s emergency operations group. In 2017, he assumed his most recent position as assistant dean of students.

A native of Kingstown, Jamaica, Russell received his bachelor’s degree from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York.
