North Carolina Central University Establishes a Commission to Enhance Law School Education

North Carolina Central University Chancellor Karrie G. Dixon has recently announced the formation of a new commission dedicated to enhancing the HBCU’s School of Law.

The 13-member commission will be chaired by Raymond C. Pierce, former dean of the NCCU School of Law and current president of the Southern Education Foundation. Alongside his colleagues, Pierce will provide insight on how to improve the law school’s academic and administrative operations. The commission will provide recommendations pertaining to American Bar Association requirements, admissions requirements, curricula, student-teacher ratios, student services, clinical operations, bar passage rates, and post-graduate outcomes.

“I am honored to serve as chair of this important commission and to have been entrusted with this responsibility by Chancellor Dixon,” said Pierce. “The NCCU School of Law has a proud legacy of providing access to legal education and shaping the legal profession. I look forward to collaborating with some of the best legal minds in our state to ensure the School of Law continues to lead in excellence and opportunity for future generations.”
