K. Paige Carmichael has earned the distinction of University Professor at the University of Georgia. A faculty member with the university for nearly four decades, she currently holds the title of Josiah Meigs Distinguished Professor in the department of pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Her expertise centers on animal models of human disease, neuropathology, and ocular pathology.
Dr. Carmichael received her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from historically Black Tuskegee University in Alabama and her Ph.D. in veterinary pathology and pathobiology from the University of Georgia.
Michael Strickland has been appointed by Idaho Governor Brad Little to represent higher education on the Serve Idaho Commission. Strickland currently teaches as an instructor of communication at Boise State University. He is also the founder of the Human Rights Collective, Inc., a nonprofit that provides education and community-building initiatives to prevent bullying and discrimination.
Strickland received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Cornell University and master’s degree in communications from Seton Hall University. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in English education at New York University.
