The Atlanta Braves professional baseball team, in partnership with Truist, has announced the continuation of a unique philanthropy initiative that will support the baseball and softball programs at six historically Black colleges and universities throughout the U.S. South.
The “2025 Homers for Hank Together With Truist” initiative pledges to complete the Braves’ $1 million commitment to invest in local HBCUs first announced in 2021. For every home run hit by the Atlanta Braves throughout the season, Truist donates $755 to the Henry Louis Aaron Fund (Hank Aaron hit 755 home runs in his Major League career), which will facilitate the gifts to the participating HBCUs. Each institution has announced a specific project that will benefit from their upcoming donations.
