Under the agreement, the two institutions have aligned the courses taken for an associate’s degree in applied sciences at Durham Tech with those required for various life sciences bachelor’s degree programs at North Carolina Central University. This will allow students from Durham Tech to transfer their credits over to NCCU as a core class, rather than an elective credit, increasing affordability and streamlining their pathway towards a bachelor’s degree.

Additionally, the neighboring institutions have agreed to collaborate on skilled trades learning opportunities. Durham Tech students studying fields such as HVAC, plumbing, and construction will soon be able to intern on NCCU’s campus, gaining hands-on experience with professionals from the HBCU’s facilities department.
