Jamesia Harrison has been appointed director of university communications at North Carolina A&T State University. She was senior director of marketing and communications at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her other experience in academia includes marketing roles with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Central Virginia Community College.
Harrison holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from North Carolina A&T State University and a master’s degree in integrated marketing from Walden University.
Michael A. Davis has been named assistant vice president and chief of police for the University of Minnesota. He comes to his new role from Northeastern University in Boston, where he was vice president for global safety and policing. Earlier, he was chief of police for the Brooklyn Park Police Department in Minnesota. He has also served as a police practice expert for the U.S. Department of Justice.
Dr. Davis received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and master’s degree in organizational management from Concordia University. He holds a doctorate in law and policy from Northeastern University.
Douglass Morency is the new director of public safety at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. With over 20 years of professional experience, he previously served as associate vice president for campus safety at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Earlier, he was director of public safety and chief of police for the District of Columbia Public Library System.
Morency is a graduate of Howard University.
Anthony Stone was appointed executive director of the W. K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. His background includes over 15 years of experience in higher education leadership. Most recently, he was director of admissions and business development at OC Veterinary Assistant School in California.
Stone received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and his MBA from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
