Texas Southern University Announces Two New Dean Appointments

Aisha Moultry has been named interim dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) at Texas Southern University in Houston.

A longtime faculty member with the HBCU, Dr. Moultry currently teaches as a professor of pharmacy practice and administration. She has held several other leadership roles within the COPHS, including interim assistant dean for student services, associate dean of clinical and administrative services, associate dean of academic affairs, and interim assistant dean of practice programs. Since 2022, Dr. Moultry has served as interim dean and executive director of the College of Transdisciplinary Studies. In this role, she oversaw the launch of 12 degree programs designed for nontraditional learners and expanded student enrollment.

Dr. Moultry holds a master’s degree in pharmacy administration from Ohio State University. She earned a doctor of pharmacy degree and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Texas Southern University.

As Dr. Moultry transitions to her new role, Cheree Daniels has been named interim dean of the College of Transdisciplinary Studies.

Prior to her new appointment, Dr. Daniels was executive director of Texas Southern’s Center for Online Learning and Instructional Technology. She also currently serves as the campus lead for the Gates Foundation Complete College Accelerator program, as well as the AAC&U Institute on AI Pedagogy and Curriculum team. Earlier in her career, she held academic leadership roles at two other HBCUs, Virginia State University and Florida A&M University.

Dr. Daniels holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in counselor education from Florida A&M University. She earned her Ph.D. in higher education management from Hampton University in Virginia.
