Delaware State University Partners With Risepoint to Expand Online Degree Opportunities

Delaware State University has recently partnered with Risepoint, an educational technology company, to expand online degree opportunities via eHBCU.

“Despite the debate over the value of a college degree in today’s marketplace, it is still a point of fact that college degree attainment is central to economic mobility, particularly in the African American community,” says eHBCU chairman and Delaware State University President Tony Allen.

Founded during the 2024-2025 academic year, eHBCU is an online consortium of six historically Black colleges and universities dedicated to providing the experience and community of an HBCU to students, regardless of their location or circumstance. Through the new partnership with Risepoint, Delaware State University will work to develop online degree programs in high-demand fields, such as nursing, teaching, business, and public service.

“We are proud to partner with Delaware State University and see what’s possible when mission-driven institutions and technology come together,” said Fernando Bleichmar, CEO of Risepoint. “We’re excited to work alongside eHBCU and DSU to expand access to flexible, high-quality online programs and share the HBCU experience with even more students across the country.”

The other institutional members of the eHBCU consortium are Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Southern University at Shreveport; Southern University at New Orleans; Alabama State University; and the Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design in Detroit, Michigan.
