This month, historically Black Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina, welcomed three new senior staff members to campus. These administrators will assist with advancing Livingstone’s strategic priorities and securing long-term sustainability.
Adreanna Johnson is the associate vice president for strategic engagement. In this role, she will provide executive leadership across communications, alumni and donor engagement, strategic partnerships, and community relations.
Prior to her new role, Johnson was a strategy and performance analyst with Durham County Government. She is also the founder of The Alumni Collective, a North Carolina-based organization focused on strengthening alumni engagement and philanthropic support for historically Black colleges and universities. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree from Winston-Salem State University and a master of public administration degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
David Camps, Sr. is the associate vice president for foundation relations and sponsored programs. He will lead strategies to secure foundation and grant funding, cultivate high-level partnerships, and support faculty research.
Camps has held senior leadership roles with several other North Carolina-based HBCUs, including North Carolina A&T State University, Shaw University, and Fayetteville State University. He has also served as vice president of operations at H4 Enterprises, LLC, where he oversaw compliance for multibillion-dollar contracts. A U.S. Army veteran, Camps received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bowie State University and his master’s degree in information systems from George Mason University in Virginia.
LaVon Gray is assistant to the president for information technology and operations. She will oversee the HBCU’s budget management, strengthen governance practices, and align institutional resources to support organizational goals and sustainability.
With over 25 years of leadership experience, Gray has a background in administration, finance, operations, higher education, and information technology. Throughout her career, she has led several complex initiatives relating to fiscal management. Previously, she was a project director for enrollment management at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. Dr. Gray is an alumna of Livingstone College.
