Tuwanna Williams is the new executive director of workforce education at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi. Her appointment marks a return to the college, where she previously served as a college navigator and WIOA workforce recruiter for six years. Most recently, Williams was director of workforce development for the City of Natchez, Mississippi.
A graduate of Hinds Community College in Mississippi, Williams holds a bachelor of business administration degree in organizational management from American Intercontinental University and an MBA with a concentration in human resources from Delta State University in Mississippi.
Brandi Bush Roberts was appointed chief financial officer of the Louisiana State University System. She most recently served as associate vice president and chief of staff for finance and administration at Louisiana State University. Her background includes over two decades of experience in higher education administration, including more than 10 years leading financial operations for LSU Auxiliary Services.
Dr. Roberts holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting, a master’s degree in accounting, and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Louisiana State University.
Michael Wade Smith has been named senior vice president for external affairs at Pennsylvania State University. He has served as the university’s chief of staff for the past four years. Before Penn State, Dr. Smith oversaw efforts relating to government relations, community engagement, communications and marketing, and employee success at the University of Louisville. Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at the University of Kansas.
Dr. Smith earned his bachelor’s degree in English literature and American studies and his MBA in marketing and supply chain management from the University of Kansas. He holds a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
Corey Moore is the associate dean for enrollment and student success in the College of Humanities and Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University. He comes to his new role from the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, where he was assistant dean for advising and student success. Earlier, Moore was director of nursing administration and student affairs at the University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing.
Dr. Moore holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech. He earned a master’s degree in student affairs administration from Michigan State University and a doctorate in education at the University of Memphis.
Tarryn Harris has joined the University of Arkansas System’s Clinton School Impact Center staff as a research associate. She has worked as a graduate assistant at the center for the past year. Her current research projects at the Impact Center focus on public health prevention and management strategies, workforce development needs assessments, and community-level interventions for families impacted by the opioid crisis.
Harris is a graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in political science, international studies, and Spanish. She is currently completing a master of public service degree from the Clinton School of Public Service.
David Meadows has been selected to serve as interim vice president for finance and administration and treasurer at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. Meadows has over three decades of business and financial management experience in higher education, corporate environments, and the public sector. Most recently, he was vice president for finance and facilities and chief financial officer for the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia.
Meadows received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from Cleveland State University in Ohio and his MBA from Averett University in Danville, Virginia.
