Tuskegee University to Launch Online Global Campus

Tuskegee University, a historically Black educational institution in Alabama, recently announced the launch of the Tuskegee University Global Campus (TUGC), an online learning platform designed to expand access to an HBCU education for students who face barriers to a traditional on-campus experience, such as adult learners and students with limited financial resources.

Launching in Fall 2027, TUGC will feature online bachelor’s degrees and graduate programs, offering a full suite of Tuskegee curricula delivered by faculty who have obtained a certificate for teaching online. TUGC courses will feature recorded lectures, and students can benefit from academic advising, tutoring, and success coaching.

Kevin Shriner will serve as executive director of TUGC and report directly to Tuskegee’s provost Thierno Thiam.

“I am deeply honored to lead TUGC,” said Dr. Shriner. “I look forward to extending Tuskegee’s impact beyond Alabama’s borders while empowering place-bound learners to improve social and economic mobility through our high-quality programs.”
