The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) has placed the Howard University College of Medicine on probationary status.
While the historically Black medical school will retain its full accreditation, it will be under close monitoring until the next review period in February 2028. The probationary status reflects areas where LCME has determined additional documentation and information are required to demonstrate the HBCU’s compliance with specific standards.
“This moment calls not for alarm, but for alignment,” said Andrea A. Hayes-Dixon, dean of the College of Medicine and senior vice president of health affairs at Howard. “It calls us to reaffirm the standard of excellence that has defined this College for more than a century and a half. We remain steadfast in our commitment to academic rigor, continuous improvement, and institutional integrity. The Howard University College of Medicine has shaped the face of American medicine for 158 years — and we will continue to do so.”

Let’s be clear. Howard University Hospital (HUH) in a current context has morphed into nothing but a employment repository for Third World African and Caribbean immigrants. As a result, HUH is mired in unprecedented IMMIGRANT NEPOTISM along with this 21st century neocolonial mindset which manifests itself in every aspect of HUH which severely impacts their overall delivery of both academic and first-rate professional health care for patients.
Interesting but unintelligent comment regarding a College of Medicine issue. HUH is the teaching facility for clinical rotations. Without a better understanding of the LCME review it will be impossible to know where the challenges/opportunities are. I fully support the institution and believe there is a substantial contribution being made to Medicine.
Hey Mallory,
No need for your effeminate and emotive rant. It’s evident that you hail from one of those Third World African or Caribbean countries. The facts remain Mallory, people like you are totally oblivious of the overall administrative, academic, and overall operations of HUH. These problems have been ongoing at HUH for a few decades with the significant increase of African and Caribbean immigrants being allowed to have upper echelon administrative positions.
Unfortunately, too many native-born Black American administrators at HUH are partially part at fault because they’re too busy engaged in colorism and groupism along with being validated by the White political establishment. As a result, HUH will continue to be on the receiving end of external accountability that’s sorely needed.
HBCU Watch.
Bravo.
It needed to be said.
The Most Embarrassing part.
The University President is. A Doctor. From The Caribbean and a Howard Medical School Graduate.

Hey RAM,
You are 100 percent correct. In fact, ole Wayne A. I. Frederick was a damn “failed hospital administrator” (according to many) at HUH. Unfortunately, those so-called establishment Blacks and Boule card carrying holding so-called Blacks award Wayne by appointing him President of HU unfortunately. Over the course of time, ole Wayne administrative malfeasance was normalized to point which resulted in HU students protesting to the point Wayne stepped down. Fast forward a few years later, the establishment Blacks rehired Wayne as “Interim President” in a current context.
In sum, the so-called native-born Black Americans within academia, public and private sector need to realize that these Third world African and Caribbean immigrants (not all, but most) will never view you as part “their family” and will treat you in the same manner as the average White racist American. “We have no permanent friends”.
