A Pair of African American Faculty Members Appointed to New Positions

Kelli V. Randall has been named vice president of academic affairs at Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina. She will continue to serve in her current roles as a tenured professor of English, dean of liberal arts and humanities, and accreditation liaison.

Dr. Randall holds a Ph.D. in English from Emory University in Atlanta.

Walter Smith III has been named chair of the woodwind department at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He was an associate professor of jazz studies at Indiana University.

Professor Smith is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music where he majored in music education. He holds a master of music degree in jazz studies from the Manhattan School of Music.
