Southern University, the historically Black educational institution in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has signed a cooperative agreement with Abant Izzet Baysal University in Turkey. Under the agreement, the two universities will participate in faculty and student exchange programs, joint research activities, and short-term academic programs.
The agreement has a term of three years, after which the two universities will assess if, and how, the partnership will continue.
James L. Llorens, chancellor of Southern University, stated, “This relationship will provide our faculty and students another chance to go abroad and receive a well-rounded, global experience.”
