Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina has partnered with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to provide students with a pathway to become pharmacists. Both of these educational institutions are historically Black universities.
Through this agreement, participating students will begin their studies in pharmaceutical sciences at Elizabeth City State University. After completing three years of courses, students will then transfer to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where they will finish their bachelor’s of science in pharmaceutical sciences. Finally, they will spend two more years on the Maryland campus to earn a doctor of pharmacy dgreee.
In order to participate in this program, students must be admitted to the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Students will apply in the fall semester of their third year at Elizabeth City State University. They must have a minimum 3.3 grade point average and earn a minimum score of 50 on the Pharmacy College Admissions Test.
