Jackson State University Alumni Donations Set a Record

Jackson State University, the historically Black educational institution in Mississippi, reports that it has raised $2,561,093 in cash and pledges as part of its “Alumni Challenge.” The campaign started six months ago with the goal of raising $1 million for the university but the goal was more than doubled.

Two university alumni each made gifts of $500,000.

“Our alumni love their school and are proud of all that is happening at Jackson State,” said alumni association president Terry L. Woodard. “This year they stepped up as never before to show how much they support Jackson State and its students.”
