Roger Pulliam, who held several executive-level leadership posts at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, died on February 12 in Wisconsin. He was 77 years old.
A native of Gary, Indiana, Dr. Pulliam was the first member of his family to earn a high school diploma and the first to attend college. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education at Western Michigan University, where he also played football. He earned a Ph.D. in education at the University of Michigan.
After starting his career at Western Michigan University, Dr. Pulliam joined the staff at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1989. During his tenure, he served as assistant vice chancellor of academic support services, director of advancement, and interim chief diversity officer. He retired in 2018 after 29 years at the university.
