Grambling State University, the historically Black educational institution in Louisiana, has entered into an agreement with Louisiana Tech Univerity in Ruston. The partnership will offer undergraduate accounting students at Grambling State University to take advantage of an accelerated path into the master of accountancy program at Louisiana Tech.
Under the agreement, accounting majors at Grambling State University with a 3.2 or higher grade point average and less than 30 hours of course-work remaining, will be able to begin taking graduate-level courses while still an undergraduate. Merit-based scholarships will be awarded by Louisiana Tech’s College of Business for Grambling State University students enrolled in the program. Then, graduate assistantships will be awarded once the student completes their Grambling undergraduate degree and officially enters the master of accountancy degree program at Louisiana Tech.
“Partnerships like these are a testament to the importance of investing in the success of college students,” said Grambling State University President Rick Gallot. “Cultivating the next generation of accountants is key to the vitality of any business or organization, and this agreement will help that happen at a faster pace.”
