The radio station at historically Black Hampton University in Virginia has reached an agreement with Clear Channel Communications to make the station available worldwide over the Internet via iHeart Radio.
The station first went on the air in 1941. In 1964, WHOV-FM became the first federally licensed educational FM station at a historically Black college and university. The station plays jazz, gospel, Latin, and rhythm and blues music as well as broadcasting Hampton University football and basketball games.
