A Trio of African Americans Who Have Been Hired to New Administrative Positions

Adrian Dowell was appointed vice chancellor of athletics at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He has been serving as the assistant vice president and associate athletic director at Creighton University in Omaha.

Dowell holds a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance — sport management from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, where he was captain of the men’s basketball team. He holds an MBA and a master’s degree in sport administration from West Virginia University.

Kimberly Holmes-Iverson will serve as director of public relations in the Office of University Communications at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She previously served as a morning anchor at the CBS affiliate on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She also was an adjunct instructor at Salisbury University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Holmes-Iverson received a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Duke University. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Rashad Richey has been named director of institutional advancement and corporate relations at Morris Brown College in Atlanta. He was chair of adult learning at Beulah Heights University in Atlanta.

Dr. Richey earned a  bachelor’s degree in religious studies and an MBA from Beulah Heights University. He holds an educational doctorate from Clark Atlanta University.
