Kenneth K. Saunders was named officer in charge of Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York. He has been serving as the executive vice president of the college and previously served for 12 years as the college’s vice president for academic student services.
The college is part of the State University of New York system. It enrolls about 24,000 students in degree programs and another 15,000 students in continuing education programs. About 21 percent of the undergraduate degree program students are Black.
Dr. Saunders is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He holds a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and an educational doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
