Marlon Hall Appointed to Lead Fresno City College in California

The State Center Community College District in California has announced the appointment of Marlon Hall as interim president of Fresno City College.

Fresno City College enrolls slightly more than 22,000 students, according to the most recent data available from the U.S. Department of Education. African Americans make up just 4 percent of the student body.

Before being named interim president at Fresno City College, Dr. Hall spent seven and a half years as superintendent/president at Lassen Community College, in Susanville, California. He retired from that post in December 2019. Earlier in his career, he was a faculty member, academic senate president, basketball coach, instructional dean, and vice president of student services at West Hills College in Coalinga, California.

“As one door closed with retirement, another opened at Fresno City College. With this new opportunity I will emphasize that we leave no stone unturned in regard to our students reaching their educational and career goals,” Dr. Hall said.

Dr. Hall holds a master’s degree in education from Fresno Pacific University and a doctorate in educational leadership and change from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara.
