Sarah L. Price, associate dean for the College of Education at Florida A&M University, recently received the Jerry R. Thomas Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Kinesiology Association. The award recognizes individuals with outstanding administrative and leadership performance as well as someone who promotes their unit’s strategic, kinesiology-centered goals.
“I am here to work and serve my community, workplace, and my profession. It is a great honor to be recognized by my colleagues in the discipline of kinesiology,” Dr. Price said. Before becoming associate dean last fall, Dr. Price was chair of the department of health and physical education at the university since 2014.
“Dr. Price has spent decades dedicated to her profession and advancing the research platform specifically for underrepresented minorities,” said College of Education Dean Allyson Watson. “She is a standard-bearer for our college and works diligently to lift others.”
Dr. Price received her education at the University of Florida, Ohio State University, and Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte.
