Winston-Salem State University has bestowed honors on two of its former chancellors. A new dormitory, scheduled to open next fall will be called the Martin-Schexnider Residence Hall.
Harold L. Martin Sr. served as chancellor from 2000 to 2006. Alvin J. Schexnider was chancellor from 1996 to 2000. There will be two towers in the residence hall with one being named for each former chancellor. Each of the two towers will have space for 227 students.
