The College of Education at the University of Georgia has announced four finalists for the position of dean. All four finalists will soon visit campus for a series of interviews and public forums. One of the candidates is an African American.
Bernard Oliver is a professor in the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education at the University of Florida. He also serves as program coordinator of education leadership and policy studies. Earlier in his career, he taught at the University of Missouri and Washington State University. From 2002 to 2005 he was an assistant superintendent for the public school system in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Dr. Oliver holds a master’s degree and an educational doctorate from Stanford University.
