The flagship campus of the University of Missouri at Columbia reports that in 2011 there were 51 Black faculty members on campus. This was one fewer than in 2006. African Americans are nearly 12 percent of the Missouri population.
In 2011, there were 12 Black full professors at the university, the same number as in 2006. In 2011, Blacks were just 2.1 percent of all full professors.

Some progress has been made at the assistant professor rank where the number of Blacks improved from 20 to 25 during the 2006 to 2011 period.
