Jack Michael Bellamy, a civil engineer with more than 30 years of leadership, construction, and facilities management experience, has been named the vice president for facilities and campus development at Yale University, effective October 3. He has been serving as the executive director for facilities services at the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States.
Bellamy earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Virginia Military Institute, where he played football. He obtained a master’s degree in building construction management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Linda J. Bell is the new director of athletics at Dillard University in New Orleans. Since 2018, Dr. Bell had served as director of compliance and the senior women’s administrator at Fort Valley State University in Georgia. Prior to Fort Valley State, she served as assistant athletic director for compliance services and business operations at the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Dr. Bell earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saint Paul’s College in Virginia. She earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a doctorate in business administration in innovation and strategy from the University of the Southwest.
Isaac Brundage is the new vice president for student affairs at California State University, Chico. He was the vice president of student affairs and enrollment management at Western New Mexico University in Silver City.
Dr. Brundage is a graduate of Florida A&M University where he majored in biology education. He holds a master’s degree and a doctorate from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Gaëtane Verna was appointed executive director of the Wexner Center for the Arts at Ohio State University. Since 2012, she has been director and artistic director at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto. Earlier, she was executive director and chief curator of the Musée d’art de Joliette, one of Quebec’s largest art museums, from 2006 to 2012.
Verna is a graduate of Concordia University in Montreal. She holds a master’s degree in art history from the Sorbonne in Paris.
Rachelle L. Williams is the new director of alumni engagement and annual giving at Talladega College in Alabama. She previously served as an associate faculty member at the University of Phoenix campus in Washington, D.C. Earlier, she was an instructor in the African American studies and women’s studies departments at the University of Maryland College Park and the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Talladega College. She holds a master’s degree in women’s studies from the University of Maryland College Park, and a master of fine arts degree in narrative media writing from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.
Tara Owens was appointed director of athletics at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She was the athletic director at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Earlier, she served as athletic director at Baltimore City Community College.
Owens holds a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Virginia State University. She earned a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision from Cheyney University in Pennsylvania.
Frederick Haywood, Jr. is the new digital marketing and communications manager at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the digital marketing and communications manager at Wiley College in Texas.
Haywood holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in marketing from Jackson State University in Mississippi.
