Jeanette Davidson was appointed director of the Center for Societal Impact and a professor of instruction at the University of Texas, effective for the 2023-24 academic year. She has been serving as a professor of African and African American studies at the University of Oklahoma. She taught at the University of North Texas and Columbia University before coming to the University of Oklahoma in 1997.
Dr. Davidson earned master’s and doctoral degrees in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Tony Morris, chair and professor in the department of art and design at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, has been named the associate dean of the College of Arts and Letters at the university. Dr. Morris is a professor of art history with an emphasis on queer representations in 20th-century art. He teaches courses on global contemporary art and the history of graphic design.
Professor Morris is a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where he majored in graphic design. He holds a master’s degree in art history from Kent State University in Ohio and a Ph.D. in art history from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
Nicholas Bratcher was appointed professor of music at the University of Louisiana Monroe. He will also serve as director of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the university. He will conduct the university’s Wind Ensemble and teach graduate courses in music education. Earlier, he served as director of bands and coordinator for music education at California State University, San Bernardino, director of bands at the University of Dubuque in Iowa, and assistant director of bands at Savannah State University in Georgia.
Dr. Brathcer is a graduate of South Carolina State University, where he majored in music. He holds a master’s degree in music education from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina, and a doctorate in music education from the University of Georgia.
