Marvin Lewis was selected to be the next assistant vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He will begin his new job on July 1. He has been serving as assistant vice president for athletics and recreation/chief operating officer at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
A former two-time captain of the basketball team, Lewis graduated with honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in management. He is a licensed CPA. Lewis later earned a master’s degree in taxation from Georgia State University.
Yvonne Harris was named vice president of the Division of Research and Innovation Partnerships at Northern Illinois University. She has been serving as associate vice president of research, innovation, and economic development at California State University, Sacramento.
Dr. Harris earned a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular radiation biology from Northern Illinois University.
Earl Warren was appointed vice president for institutional advancement at Talladega College in Alabama. Since 2006, he has been director of university development at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. Earlier, he was CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama.
Warren holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in sports management from Jacksonville State University.
Marcia Pecot is the new director of alumni relations at Xavier University in New Orleans. She previously held positions at the Morehouse School of Medicine and Emory University, both in Atlanta.
A 1996 graduate of Xavier University, Dr. Pecot holds a master’s degree from Georgia State University and a doctorate in education from Northeastern University in Boston.
Stephen Latson is the interim executive director of institutional advancement at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was serving as director of development in the Office of Institutional Advancement at the university. Earlier, he held banking executive positions at Commerce Bank and Mazuma Credit Union in Kansas City.
A native of Jesup, Georgia, Latson earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where he was a three-year winner in football. He holds a master’s degree in education from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri.
