Bruce Morgan of Bryan College Honored by the Association for Christians in Student Development

Bruce Morgan, dean of students at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, is the recipient of the Jane Higa Multicultural Advancement Award from the Association for Christians in Student Development. Established in 2011, this award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to promoting multiculturalism in the association and its member institutions.

In 1980, the Association for Christians in Student Development was established. It resulted from a merger of the Christian Association of Deans of Women and the Association of Christian Deans and Advisors of Men.

Morgan joined the staff at Bryan College in 1999 and has served as dean of students for the past 21 years. Earlier, he was a high school teacher in three states over a 17-year period.

Originally from a small town in North Louisiana, Bryan enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school. After being discharged, he earned a bachelor’s degree in history at Bryan College. He later earned a master’s degree in higher education from Geneva College in Beaver Falls Pennsylvania.
