Harriette Scott Named Dean of University College at Virginia Union University

Harriette Scott was appointed dean of University College at Virginia Union University in Richmond. She has been serving as a senior lecturer in the higher education leadership program at Boston University. Earlier, she held dean positions at in Brockton, Massachusetts, and Tulsa Community College in Oklahoma.

Dr. Scott studies writes, teaches, and presents nationally on student success, women in leadership, collegiality, equity, diversity, and inclusion.  In a statement the university, said “her vision, leadership, and commitment to excellence promise a bright future for our academic community.”

Dr. Scott earned bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She holds a master’s degree in early child education from Norfolk State University in Virginia and a doctorate in community college leadership from Morgan State University in Baltimore.
