Morehouse College Partners With Moraine Valley Community College in Illinois

Students at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois, wishing to transfer to Morehouse College, a Historically Black College and University in Atlanta, will have a smooth transition thanks to an articulation agreement between the two institutions.

Moraine Valley Community College enrolls just over 10,000 students, according to the most recent data available from the U.S. Department of Education. African Americans make up 9 percent of the student body.

The agreement offers specific benefits to Moraine Valley students such as guaranteed admission, reduced tuition, dual admission, and acceptance into honors programs based on criteria set by each institution.

“I am proud we are expanding the number of agreements we have with HBCUs and Hispanic-Serving Institutions,” said Pamela J. Haney, president of Moraine Valley. “As our students consider which colleges and universities they would like to transfer to after graduating from Moraine Valley, we want to make their transition as seamless as possible through articulation agreements with a wide range of institutions.’

Earlier, Moraine Valley Community College established a transfer agreement with historically Black Voorhees University in Denmark, South Carolina.
