Tony D. Hansberry is a freshman at Florida A&M University, where he majors in biomedical engineering. Four years ago, in a project for a science fair, Hansberry developed a new suture method for patients undergoing hysterectomies. The new method decreases hospital stays for women who undergo the surgery.
“People think I’m a genius,” Hansberry says. “It’s not that at all. I just like medicine.” He hopes to go to medical school after completing his undergraduate degree at Florida A&M with the goal of becoming a trauma surgeon.
I am glad he went to an HBCU. This is why FAMU needs to stay a float.
This is what should be put out there for our Children, so they will know, there is something they can learn to do, besides all the negative info every day. The power of the word or words can make you or break you.
Reminds me of the article about the kid at Morehouse a few years ago!
