Elizabeth City State University Establishes Transfer Agreements With a Local Community College

Elizabeth City State University, a historically Black university in North Carolina, has established a new partnership with the College of the Albemarle, a local community college in Elizabeth City. Students at the College of the Albemarle now have the opportunity for a seamless transfer to Elizabeth City State University upon completion of their associate’s degree.

The institutions have created two transfer pathways for enrollment in Elizabeth City State University’s bachelor’s degree in aviation science program. Students who receive their associate’s degree in applied science in aviation systems technology with a GPA of at least 2.0 from the College of the Albemarle can transfer into one of the undergraduate degree program’s two concentrations: professional aeronautics or aviation management.

A third agreement, the Viking Advantage Agreement, aims to improve transfer access for the College of the Albemarle students into the Elizabeth City State University bachelor’s degree program of their choosing. The program will provide up to $1,000 scholarships to 10 community college students. Participating students will receive guaranteed admission to Elizabeth City State University and additional support resources for a seamless transition into their new degree program.
