Jeffery W. Norfleet II has been selected to serve as interim president of Shorter College in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Shorter College, a historically Black community college, enrolls over 300 students. Black students represent roughly three-quarters of the student body.
Dr. Norfleet has been serving as Shorter College’s provost and vice president. He has an extensive background in higher education, serving in both academic and administrative capacities. Prior to his current role, he held several positions with Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee including executive director of institutional effectiveness, assistant professor of leadership studies, and director for the quality enhancement plan. Earlier in his career, he served as director of academic affairs for the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and as a board member for the Tennessee Board of Regents.
Dr. Norfleet is a graduate of historically Black Tennessee State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in humanities and master of education degree in curriculum and instruction. He holds a doctorate in leadership and professional practice from Trevecca Nazarene University.
