Job Summary and Responsibilities:
The Accounting Area in the School of Management (SOM) at the University of San Francisco seeks applicants for a term faculty position in the field of financial and managerial accounting starting Spring 2025. The successful candidate will teach 24 units for the year (i.e., 12 units per semester) and contribute to a collaborative presence in the USF community. Teaching responsibilities may include required core courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as electives in the candidate’s area of expertise. The Accounting Program in SOM has an undergraduate major and one graduate program, the Masters of Science in Accounting. We also teach several core courses in the part-time, full-time, and Executive MBA programs.
Some examples of core courses include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Intermediate Accounting. Individuals should feel comfortable teaching with technology as our curriculum is delivered through in-person and/or online modalities. Practice-oriented and discipline-based theoretical or empirical research is encouraged; however, it is not an explicit responsibility of the position. Candidates at any professor rank are encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess a doctorate (or be ABD) in accounting or related discipline. Previous professional experience (such as teaching experience or teaching assistantships, corporate training, pedagogical publications, or attendance at conferences) that demonstrates an interest in teaching excellence is expected.
