Aundrea Self has been appointed director of outreach and engagement for the College of Business. She comes to her new role after nearly three decades with WCBI-TV, a Columbus, Mississippi-based television channel. Throughout her long tenure with the station, she has served as a reporter, anchor, producer, and host. Currently, she hosts “MidMorning with Aundrea” and anchors two afternoon news broadcasts.
An HBCU graduate, Self received her bachelor’s degree in English and mass communication from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She earned her master’s degree in journalism from the University of Alabama.
Tommy “T.J.” Walker has been named director for pre-college and opportunity programs in the division of access, opportunity, and success. Most recently, he served as director of recruitment and inclusive excellence for Mississippi State University’s College of Forest Resources. Previously, he was district dean of student services at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Dr. Walker earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Mississippi State University, a master’s degree in leadership from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi, and a doctorate in higher education from the University of Mississippi.
