Faculty position to teach on the Spartanburg and/or Greenville campus.

The College of Education, Human Performance and Health at USC Upstate seeks a non-tenure track faculty member to serve as Instructor and Director of Field Experiences. This 12 month position will be responsible for activities related to clinical and field placements for all teacher education programs, as well as teaching two courses per major semester. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working in K-12 schools, particularly those in the Spartanburg, SC, region, as well as previous experience serving as a supervisor for teacher candidates. The Director will work with diverse populations of collegiate students, collaborate to develop positive relationships with community partners and schools, and teach a variety of education courses in a collegial and cooperative environment. The candidate will also coordinate our Teacher Cadet and Reach UP programs. This position requires exemplary organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency with a variety of software, and an eagerness to use new technological tools and acquire new skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Required Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Education or related field; teaching experience at the undergraduate level, as well as aminimum of five years successful teaching experience in K-12 public school classrooms; a minimum of threeyears of experience supervising teacher candidates; valid certification as a SC ADEPT evaluator; highproficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel; ability to identify and practice assessment measures forevaluating program outcomes. A successful background check is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in Education; experience teaching at the graduate level; experience teaching online/hybrid; evidence of significant professional engagement with K-12 faculty and knowledge of local Upstate are public schools; experience with Assessment Management System and reporting; certification as CAEP reviewer and experience collecting, monitoring, and evaluating data for CAEP accreditation, specifically Standards 2 and 4.
