Wilberforce University Launches Three-Year Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology
Wilberforce University, one of two historically Black universities in the state of Ohio, recently announced a new accelerated bachelor’s degree program in kinesiology.
The new undergraduate degree can be completed in three years, thereby reducing tuition costs for students and allowing them to enter the workforce sooner than a traditional four-year program. Drawing from foundations in anatomy, movement science, nutrition, and health promotion, the kinesiology curriculum is designed to prepare students for careers in health care, fitness, physical therapy, sports science, and wellness.
“As workforce needs evolve and students seek both affordability and career readiness, programs like our 3-year kinesiology degree represent a new era of academic innovation,” said Lynda Brown-Wright, provost at Wilberforce University. “This offers students intentional curriculum design that prepares them for meaningful work in health and wellness faster.”
