Chandra Bhimull has been appointed the Audrey Wade Hittinger Katz and Sheldon Toby Katz Professor for Distinguished Teaching in Anthropology and African American Studies at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She is an anthro-historian who combines ethnographic and archival methods at the intersection of aviation, technology, and the African diaspora. She is the author of Empire in the Air: Airline Travel and the African Diaspora (New York University Press, 2017). A member of the faculty since 2007, Dr. Bhimull served as chair of the department of African American studies from 2019 to 2025.
Professor Bhimull is a graduate of Kenyon College in Ohio. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Michigan.
Ngozi Okidegbe was promoted to full professor at the Boston University School of Law. Her research focuses on the areas of law and technology, evidence, criminal procedure, and racial justice. She holds a joint appointment in the university’s department of computing and data sciences. Prior to joining Boston University, Professor Okidegbe was an assistant professor of law at the Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York.
Professor Okidegbe is a graduate of Concordia University in Montreal, where she majored in history. She holds law degrees from McGill University in Montreal and Columbia University in New York.
Bradley S. Gardner has joined the Savannah State University faculty as an associate professor of political science and international affairs and director of the Center for Professional Excellence. Dr. Gardner comes to the university from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he was assistant dean of the College of Arts and Humanities and chair of the department of social sciences. His research focuses on community policing, democracy, governance, and justice systems in post-colonial societies, with a special focus on the Caribbean.
Dr. Gardner is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, where he majored in political science. He holds a master’s degree in international relations from Hult International Business School in London and a Ph.D. in international conflict management from Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
