
Dr. Bimper has been serving as the university’s executive dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences — the institution’s largest and most comprehensive college. Before joining North Texas in 2023, Dr. Bimper was a faculty member at Colorado State University. He served in several leadership roles at Colorado State, including interim director of the School of Education, interim chief of staff to the president, associate dean and executive director for the College of Liberal Arts, assistant vice provost for academic affairs, and assistant vice president for student affairs. Earlier, he taught at Kansas State University. As a scholar, Dr. Bimper has conducted extensive research regarding the racial identity and well-being of student-athletes.
A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Bimper received his bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science from Colorado State University. He holds a master’s degree in health and kinesiology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with a concentration in cultural studies in education from the University of Texas at Austin.
