Historically Black Bowie State University in Maryland has established a new partnership with Revolutionary VP Studios in Laurel, Maryland, that will support the HBCU’s new bachelor’s degree in immersive media, entertainment, and gaming (IMEG). Launched this fall, the IMEG program prepares students for careers in virtual production, gaming, extended reality, animation, and digital media by combining creative storytelling with emerging technologies and experiential learning.
Under a new agreement with Revolutionary VP Studios, students majoring in IMEG will have opportunities to participate in training programs covering Unreal Engine, virtual camera tracking, LED volume operations, production design, and real-time content creation. Additionally, the partnership will provide pathways to paid academic-credit internships, mentorship opportunities, portfolio development, and professional networking opportunities.
